Sorting Laundry and Choosing Water Temperature
Sorting clothes is the first step in laundry; correct sorting can prevent clothes from bleeding, deforming, and being damaged. At the same time, choosing the right water temperature can effectively remove stains and protect clothing fibers.
Clothes are mainly sorted according to color, material, and degree of soiling. Colors are divided into dark, light, and white; materials are divided into cotton, linen, synthetic fibers, silk, wool, etc.; the degree of soiling is divided into slight stains and heavy stains.
The choice of water temperature is also very important. Generally speaking, cold water (below 30℃/86°F) is suitable for washing brightly colored clothes to prevent fading; warm water (30-40℃/86-104°F) is suitable for washing everyday clothes and can effectively remove stains; hot water (40-60℃/104-140°F) is suitable for washing bed sheets, towels, etc., and can sterilize. Note: Some special materials, such as wool and silk, can only be hand-washed in cold or warm water.
